From Videomaker website... Maxell, like most other manufacturers, produces two grades each of 8mm and Hi8 videocassettes. 8mm is available in GX-MP ($6.29) and HGX-MP ($8). You can also buy HGX-MP in lengths of 150 and 180 minutes. Hi8’s two grades are a metal particle tape, XR-Metal ($10.89), and a metal evaporated tape, XD-ME ($35).
